Off to Montana
I'm off to Montana in a few hours. My bags are almost packed and my house is almost in order to leave. We should have a good time at Jenna's wedding, seeing the sights driving out, and camping in Yellowstone. More details when I get back. Pray for safe travel!

From Albino to.....Albino with a tint!
Okay, okay! I finally did it. I am in a wedding in a week and a half and I needed to have a decent tan to cover my mixed-up tan lines and to tint my skin from its natural albino glow. I proceeded to the Mystic Tan booth to get my spray on tan. (Yep-the regular tanning beds just burn me, so I went with the spray on tan). As I got into the booth, all I could think about was the Friends' episode where Ross got a spray-on tan and turned, then turned back, and ended up with a "#4" on one side of his body and nothing on the other. I laughed aloud as I entered the booth. I can only imagine what the employees were thinking.
So far, I see a light tinting. Hmm, I think I will have to have 2 applications-big surprise.

Home Sweet Home
I spent the day in good old Omro, WI to celebrate Father's Day and spend some quality time with my dad (and mom). While there, I was able to attend my home church with my parents and I took a few moments to scan the church as I looked at all of the same members from when I grew up. Sure, there was more gray hair and a few more slouchy shoulders, but overall, it was the same, strong and sturdy Grace Lutheran Church. I walked through my dad's garden with him as he told me, in great detail and with a bit of pride, what each plant was. We inspected the roses and checked out the updates to the new, yet used, RV. Back inside, I helped (mainly watched) as mom made a delicious lunch, with homemade vanilla bean ice cream as the final course. Later, mom and I made spent a few hours twiddling our time away as we made homemade cards with her mountain of supplies. As I was driving home this evening and chatting with a friend on the phone, it struck me that whenever I say I am going "home", I am always referring to Omro, not my home in Cedarburg. I guess that no matter how long I am away, the place that my parents raised me in will always be my "home".
Happy Father's Day!

Millenium Park

While Mike and I were visiting Chicago on Friday, we stopped at Millenium Park. Pretty much the coolest water fountain you have ever seen and the amazing thing is that the faces change every few minutes. Sporadically, water comes flowing out of the tv screen mouth that is located behind glass bricks. The stainless steel bean shaped sculpture was also impressive. The pictures are from my phone, so the quality is not 100%, but you can get the idea.

Workboots

"You can't make footprints in the sands of time, unless you put on your workboots"
-Clinton Nelson
My Grandma just sent a few of my Grandpa's old plastering tools: a hock, a trowel and a pointer. If there was one thing Grandpa modeled for me and everyone he knew, it was the ethic of hard work.
I decided to hang the tools in my office as a reminder of Grandpa, one of the best, and the legacy he left to all of us.
