January

January in a snapshot has been this:

It snows. I shovel. It snows again. I shovel again. It snows again. I shovel again. It is sub-zero temperatures. I try not to freeze while leaving the house. Ahh, you've gotta love winter in Wisconsin. On the bright side of things, the days are slowly getting longer and we now have daylight until about 5:15, which is a major bright spot in my days!

After Christmas and spending the time with my sister's family, I came back to Wisconsin to meet up with Pete, who had migrated to Florida this past August. It was great to catch up with him, even though we were both sick during part of his visit. A few days after he left, I was able to celebrate New Years with some great friends. We ended up staying up super late playing Nertz and reminiscing from the years past.

Just a week later, my family came down to celebrate my birthday with me. We had a great day-chaotic, but fun. I tried a new recipe and made a roast pork loin with fennel, which was really delicious. We played some cards, chatted, ran to the scrapbooking store, played with the kids, and just hung out. My mom and dad stayed later so my mom could come to my Stampin club/class with me, which was a blast.
